Chlorinated rubber is one of chlorinated polymers obtained by chlorination modification of natural rubber or synthetic rubber. Because of its excellent film-forming property, adhesion, corrosion resistance, flame retardancy and insulation, it can be widely used in the manufacture of adhesives, marine paints, container paints, chemical anti-corrosion paints, road marking paints, fire-resistant paints, architectural coatings and printing inks. It is one of the chlorine based fine chemical products with great development prospects. In addition, due to the high chlorine content, chlorinated rubber will not burn. Therefore, it is a valuable raw material for manufacturing fireproof and anti-corrosion paint. Chlorinated rubber has many excellent application properties due to its high content of chlorine atoms in the C-C main chain and its ring structure:
1. The molecular chain structure is saturated and does not contain active groups such as double bonds. Therefore, it has stable chemical properties and excellent corrosion resistance. It can withstand the corrosion of acid, alkali, salt, chlorine, H2S, SO2 and other corrosive chemicals;
2. Cl - group has anti mold and flame retardant properties, so the product has anti mold and flame retardant properties;
3. C-Cl bond has strong polarity, so it has good adhesion on the surface of steel, aluminum alloy, cement, wood and other materials;
4. It has a C-C main chain and is a rubber modified product, so it has good compatibility with natural rubber, chloroprene rubber, nitrile rubber and other rubber;
5. With a ring structure, the adhesiveness, flame retardancy, oil resistance and elastic modulus of the product are improved;
6. It decomposes slightly above 125 ℃, and does not soften and burn above 200 ℃. It has good heat resistance.
